Product Introduction

Bovine serum albumin, the English name is Bovine Serum Albumin, also known as Bovine albumin, or Cohn Fraction V, referred to as BSA. BSA has an extremely wide range of laboratory applications and is often used as a blocking agent in immunological experiments, including ELISA and WB (Western Blot). As a carrier protein, cross-linking it to haptens and other weak antigens can make them more immunogenic in antibody production. In restriction enzyme digestion reactions, BSA is often used as a reaction stabilizer for some enzymes and can prevent them from adhering to the tube wall and pipette tip. BSA is also commonly used in biopharmaceutical production processes or as a nutrient for cell and microbial cultures. In addition, it is also used as a standard for protein quantitative detection. The BSA products we provide are prepared using high-quality bovine plasma and using the Heat Shock method.

This product is fatty acid-free bovine serum albumin (Fatty Acid Free BSA). The fatty acid content in it is very low (0.02%), almost negligible, and it is easy to dissolve. It is usually used as a carrier protein for trace elements, fatty acids, hormones and growth factors, and is added to serum-free culture systems. This product allows certain specific fatty acids to be added to BSA to promote cell growth. Suitable for hormone or cholesterol analysis to avoid lipids or fatty acids interfering with the results. The total fatty acid content in each batch of products is ≤0.02%.
