The calcium ion fluorescent probe Rhod-2, AM is a reagent for calcium flux determination, a preferred method in drug discovery for screening G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs).
Rhod-2 is a high-affinity Ca2+ fluorescent probe with visible light excitation wavelength. Rhod-2 AM is an acetyl methyl ester derivative of Rhod-2 and has cell membrane permeability. Once it enters the cell, it is cleaved by lactase to produce Rhod-2 without membrane permeability, which remains in the cell to perform corresponding physiological functions. Maximum excitation/emission wavelength: 549/578 nm.
