 Fluo-3, AM ester is a fluorescent dye that can penetrate the cell membrane. Fluo-3, AM ester can be cleaved by endogenous esterases to form Fluo-3, which is trapped in cells. Fluo-3 could bind to calcium ions and produce strong fluorescence with a maximum excitation wavelength of 506 nm and a maximum emission wavelength of 526 nm. An important role of Fluo-3, AM ester is its use in high-throughput drug screening.
