PVDF membrane (0.45 μm) KB6047-50

0.45 μm 5.5*8.5cm 50 pcs/box
30 boxes/carton (0.45 μm 5.5*8.5cm 50 pcs/box)

The 0.45 μm PVDF membrane is mainly used for Western Blot of Proteins >10 kDa, adsorption analysis, amino acid analysis, N-terminal protein sequencing, Dot/slot blots, and lipopolysaccharide analysis. When used with Saygel transfer sponge + transfer filter paper + BVT-4 transfer electrophoresis apparatus (4 membranes simultaneously), it provides excellent WB results with high efficiency. This product has a pore size of 0.45 μm, cut size of 5.5×8.5 cm, 50 sheets per box. Each membrane can be used for transferring entire standard gels.

Product Introduction

This product PVDF membrane, namely polyvinylidene fluoride membrane, has high mechanical strength and is an ideal solid support for protein blotting. PVDF membrane is hydrophobic and comes with different pore sizes. The smaller the pore size, the stronger the binding to low molecular weight Proteins.

PVDF membrane is most commonly used for Western Blotting, but can also be used for adsorption analysis, amino acid analysis, N-terminal protein sequencing, dot/slot blot detection, and lipopolysaccharide analysis.

This product has a pore size of 0.45 μm, cut size of 5.5×8.5 cm, 50 sheets per pack, especially suitable for Proteins ≥10 kDa.

This product is compatible with various dyes, including Ponceau S red, Coomassie brilliant blue, Sypro ruby, Transillumination, Toluidine blue, CPTS, Colloidal gold, India ink and Amido black. Among them, dyes like Ponceau S and CPTS can be washed off after staining, allowing the membrane to be used for further analysis; while dyes like Coomassie brilliant blue, India ink and Amido black are irreversible, and the membrane cannot be used for further analysis after staining.

This product is suitable for detection by chemiluminescence (such as ECL), conventional display (such as DAB, TMB), staining and radioisotope methods.

The cut size of this product matches commercially available pre-cast gels and can be used for transferring entire PAGE gels.

Storage and Transportation

Transport at room temperature, store dry and sealed to prevent moisture. Long-term validity.

Instructions for Use

  1. This PVDF membrane is suitable for Proteins ≥10 kDa. For Proteins <10 kDa, 0.2 μm membrane is recommended.

  2. PVDF membrane needs to be activated with methanol or ethanol for at least 20 seconds before use to activate the positively charged groups on the membrane, making it easier to bind to negatively charged proteins.

Precautions

  1. PVDF membrane dries easily. After transfer, place it in TBST immediately. If the membrane dries too much, reactivate with methanol.

  2. Wear lab coats and disposable gloves when handling.
